Bonner Springs is a city in the U.S. state of Kansas, just west of Kansas City. The city was incorporated on November 10, 1898, and had a population of 7,837 according to the 2020 census. It’s part of the Kansas City metropolitan area.

History
Bonner Springs is one of the oldest cities in Kansas, established in 1812 by the Chouteau family. In 1865, with the arrival of railroads and steamboats, thousands of people and commerce came to the area. Tiblow was then renamed Bonner Springs after Philo Clark platted it in 1880 as an homage to his long-time friend Robert Bonner. It soon became a bustling city with an elected mayor when it was incorporated in 1898.
